Sensing an end to this Astroturf movement, our trusted “news” media are now promoting “protest music” as a new feature to their Monday night follies (currently marketed as “Moral Mondays”). But as Warren Zevon almost said, “that train runs both ways!”
Introducing Julia Blueprint, our gifted discovery who satirizes the “Moral Monday” crowd with a little music of her own in a song called “Marxist Mondays.” (Hat tip to the Bangles.)
We’ve encouraged her creativity because Reverend Barber and his Blueprint NC puppet masters have had free spin over voter ID for long enough. The Barber-Blueprint Mob rejects “on principle” a law that would provide free ID cards to anybody too poor to obtain a legal ID card. Lest we forget, without valid ID, one cannot enter a Federal building, cash a check, enter an airport (per TSA regulation) or buy certain cold medicines (per DEA regulation) and House Bill 589 would finally set the poor free! But the Barber-Blueprint Mob would rather keep their victims in modern bondage so they can foment civil unrest.
We propose a new response to their effort: The voters of North Carolina are finally getting their way on voter ID and the days are numbered for politicians who steal power by stealing elections. Let’s call their worn out strategy what it actually is: 1960s style Saul Alinsky-Karl Marx agitation” and celebrate with laughter!

Here are the lyrics:
–
It’s 12 o’clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin’ Al Gore
By a crystal blue Antarctic stream
Gotta go to work
Or else I guess I just won’t get paid
Go throw a tantrum
And hope I don’t get pepper sprayed.
It’s just another Marxist Monday
It’s a staged movement
Astroturf moment
Made for your amusement
Just another Marxist Monday
Have to make the bus
got to be to the statehouse by five
I don’t know why we protest
but Republicans mustn’t survive
Well it takes so long for me
to figure out what I’m gonna wear
I might be arrested
so I gotta look real hot, I swear
It’s just another Marxist Monday
It’s a staged movement
Astroturf moment
Made for your amusement
Just another Marxist Monday
Oh my God
why did my lover get me in this crazy crowd?
Why can’t we just live off food stamps and unemployment
like we vowed?
He tells me in his bedroom voice
C’mon honey, let’s go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
It’s just another Marxist Monday
It’s a staged movement
Astroturf moment
Made for your amusement
Just another Marxist Monday
It’s a staged movement
Astroturf moment
Just another Marxist Monday
